Paradise Found, Florida Oil Painting of Beach, Ocean, Palms, Islands and Clouds by Judy Batterson, Florida Artist

This larger oil painting expresses what I think is the essence of coastal Florida...tropical breezes, clusters of palms, waves softly touching the sand, islands dotting the coastal areas and a feeling of bliss. This painting is now on exhibit at Leu Gardens in Orlando until July 9, 2014.

Palms Along the River, Florida Oil Painting of St. John's River with Palms by Judy Batterson, Florida Artist

This 12 x 24 oil painting was from a houseboat trip on the St. John's River. It was quite an adventure! Gators everywhere, birds everywhere, and the sky was yellow at sunrise. Pristine wilderness surrounded us as were experiencing beautiful Old Florida. Palms lined the river for miles. Now on display at Leu Gardens in Orlando until July 9, 2014.

Wekiva Moon, Full moon in oil on black canvas by Judy Batterson, Florida Artist

Florida has a unique wildlife corridor in the center of the state called the Wekiva River Preserve State Park. There are hiking trails along with canoe and kayak runs in pristine wilderness. The people who have houses nearby see bears, ospreys and eagles. And at night, without the lights of the city, the moon has a magical glow. Framed oil. Now on exhibit at my solo show "For the Love of Florida" at Leu Gardens in Orlando.

Butterfly Garden, Impressions of Flower Garden by Judy Batterson, Florida Artist

So much fun painting with kids in our butterfly garden! We did acrylic paintings, layering in impressionistic style while trying to catch the sun on the salvia. Butterflies fluttered nearby. I always use acrylics with children because water is always on hand. I had as much fun as they did. We filled our canvases and souls with color! 12 x 12" acrylic on canvas.

Fall in Central Park, oil painting of New York City park by Judy Batterson, Florida Artist

What? No palm trees? A Florida friend went on a trip to Central Park and asked this Florida artist to capture her trip memory on canvas. She had a great time in New York, took a walk to see the fall trees and loved her vantage point in Central Park. Paintings preserve memories!

Walking in Sunshine, by Judy Batterson, Florida Artist

A friend grew up with a large painting hanging in her family's living room. When her dad died, she wanted to have this painting for the special memories associated with it. But, unfortunately, it had been given away. That's when an artist can help! I recreated her painting on a smaller scale. What a joy to see her face when I presented the painting! May we all "walk in sunshine" now and through eternity!
