The Courtyard, Palms and Fountain by Judy Batterson, Florida Artist

Sitting in a large window overlooking a well manicured courtyard, I painted live inside a gallery. The view was of palms,flowers and a lovely fountain in the middle of a large upscale outdoor mall in Orlando. People love to watch artists paint. I should have added all those cute faces pressed against the window!! It was fun! 5x7 original oil.

"A New Day Blooms" framed 8x10 original plein air oil painting. I found out that Monet would go to the same site for days to complete a painting. If he could do that, so could I! I painted this one morning in a park. Later I went back and red flowers were blooming. I happily added the color. Thanks, Monet!

Watching the osprey circle overhead, I was mesmerized. The large bird spotted fish in the tannic brown waters of the St. John's River. Bright green aquatic plants lined the side of the river next to mangroves, cypress and grasses. I had a great view with my easel on a houseboat in the river.
